Why do we write essays, studies, thesis etc.?

Besides exams other challenges are the different written works: studies, essays, thesis and so on. So, why do we have to bother with them? To research history comes along with another task: we should share what we have found and explain what we can learn from it.

We have to be able to do it in different ways. We can get some pages in a publication for an essay or a study, we can get a chance to write a few lines for a magazine, or we have to write a few captions for an exhibition, when we may have to summarize a story enough for a novel in about few hundred characters. Believe me, it’s not easy, and there will be people who will read it ready to find mistakes.

According to my experience – and the mistakes, what I made –, my advices are as follows:

1. Always choose a topic what fit to the genre and the audience.

2. Think over what time you need for research.

3. Be able to stop the research and the gathering of the sources, give enough time to yourself to write your work.

4. Check the requirements of the genre – usually you get some instructions, you can check other people’s works, and there are guides on internet.

5. Choose a language and depth of details fit to the format and the audience.

6. Finish your work in time – after the deadline even the brightest work could be useless.

Good luck, Everyone!
