55 years ago/July 4, 1967

On the fifth emergency special session of the UN General Assembly two draft resolutions – the ones of the non-aligned countries and the Latin American countries – failed to obtain the two-third majority, two draft resolutions – the ones of the Soviet Union and the Albanian – were rejected. The United States didn’t press for a vote on its draft resolution. The draft resolution of Sweden about the humanitarian assistance – A/RES/2252 (ES-V) –, and the draft resolution of Pakistan about the status of Jerusalem – A/RES/2253 (ES-V) – were adopted.
